The article of the month presented by EAMS for January 2025 is an international delphi study promoted by a worldwide group of experts in airway management in the specific setting of the physiologically difficult airway.
This is a real hot topic, with significant and someway worrying data coming from the Intube study and many research papers on the topic. 35 experts were involved in the process, with a series of consensus statements and infographics coming out of seven consensus rounds through a Delphi process. The paper raises important points for future studies and gives some uniform advices for safer airway management in critically ill and physiologically difficult airways.
