Martin Petzoldt is a consultant anaesthetist, intensivist and senior clinical researcher at the Centre of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf.
He completed his post-doctoral graduation in cardiovascular research. He is head of the clinical research groups ‘airway management’ and ‘preoperative pulmonary risk assessment’ in Hamburg-Eppendorf. Specific clinical and research interests: airway management in adults and syndromic children, videolaryngoscopy, airway risk prediction and classification, video-assisted intubation, nasal endoscopy, pulmonary risk stratification, COPD and anaesthesia in interventional endoscopy. He is an airway enthusiast working in the ENT and OMF theatre for many years and is a clinical lecturer in the field of airway management, course director of the eppendorfer-airwayworkshop.de, member of the European Airway Management Society (EAMS), European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and Scientific Working Group ‘Airway Management’ of the German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI). Martin Petzoldt is involved in several joint research projects, has acted as a peer reviewer for many scientific journals and participated as an author or co-author in more than 50 publications and 8 book chapters.
