Gerardo Cortese is an anesthesiologist working in the main Turin (Italy) University hospital, strategically placed between Alps and Mediterranean Sea.

Born in Turin, Italy, October 24th, 1977, Gerardo Cortese is an anesthesiologist working in the main Turin (Italy) University hospital, strategically placed between Alps and Mediterranean Sea. He is now mainly focusing on Thoracic, General and Bariatric Anesthesia. He is a real airway enthusiastic and daily works hard in cooperation with EAMS and SIAARTI to spread the culture of safety, to improve the quality of airway teaching and to keep updated on new devices and techniques. He is speaker in many congresses, workshops and scientific meeting. He is an EAMS Train The Airway Teacher (TAT) course certified teacher and teaches a lot of basic and advanced airway courses in Italy and Europe. He is always happy to meet and share experiences with other airway experts who often become good friends too. He is author or co-author of scientific papers and reviewer for Anesthesia and Intensive Care journals.

When not involved in clinics or scientific and didactic projects, he enjoys his family and climbs up hill and mountains with either ski or bike under his feet.
