Task Force of the ASA Guidelines on the Difficult Airway

The European Airway Management Society is co-sponsor of the ASA Guidelines on the Difficult Airway. EAMS participated through the contribution of Prof. Robert Greif and Dr. Massimiliano Sorbello as members of the Task Force of the ASA Guidelines.


Guidelines on airway management in children under the age of one year

The European Airway Management Society endorses the new 2023 “Practice guidelines of airway management in children under one year of age - ESAIC-BJA Foundation joint guidelines” developed by an international task force led by Nicola Disma.

Research Projects

eMAGINE Development and Validation Trial

EAMS endorsed the ‘eMAGINE Development and Validation Trial’ led by Dr Martin Petzoldt as principal investigator. The Society believes the project is of absolute value on the scientific point of view and with enormous potentials for improving teaching and quality of airway management in Europe and beyond. EAMS joined the Research Advisory Board of the study.


STARGATE Study

EAMS endorsed the STARGATE study led by Vincenzo Russotto. The "International obServational sTudy on AiRway management in operAting room and non- operaTing room anestesia" is a prospective cohort study on advanced airway management in anesthesia and non-operating room setting. CRICKET (Critical Events during tracheal intubation in kids)

EAMS endorses the CRICKET study led by Nicola Disma and Thomas Riva. The “ Critical Events during tracheal intubation in kids ” is a prospective observational study looking at major complications occurring during tracheal intubation in children undergoing general anaesthesia.
